Labadi Beach Hotel marks 35 years of excellence with beach clean-up, donation, thanksgiving

Ghana’s first five-star beach resort, Labadi Beach Hotel, is marking 35 years of excellence not with just celebration, but with community impact, unity and thanksgiving.

The hotel outlined a year long activity beginning from July to October, with each activity telling a story of its commitment to people, environment and service.

Clean-Up Exercise – 17th July

The anniversary activities started on 17th July with a clean-up exercise within the hotel premises and along the sea shore.

The exercise was led by Managing Director, David Eduaful, together with Accountant George Brobbey, Food and Beverage Controller Vincent Kotey, and other staff and management members.

According to Mr. Eduaful, starting the 35th anniversary with a clean-up reflects the hotel’s core values, because without a clean environment, hospitality has already failed.

Donations – 30th & 31st July

On 30th and 31st July, the hotel embarked on donation exercises as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.

The team visited the La Mantse Palace, where they donated items including 20 cartons of Heineken, 40 packs of Bel Aqua mineral water, 10 packs of canned Coca-Cola, five packs each of canned Sprite and canned Fanta, two bottles of schnapps, two bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky, and GH¢10,000.00 in cash to support the traditional authority and the La community – a community the hotel remains deeply connected to

The donation was led by Head of Marketing, Ekua Zara Ghartey-Tsagli, who said the hotel is reaching out to everyone who has supported the brand over the years because they have all contributed to its success.

On 31st July, In a van carrying 200 packed rice meals, drinks and bottled water, staff of the hotel, led by the Head of Marketing, Ekua Zara Ghartey-Tsagli, arrived at the Al Aziz Central Mosque to share meals with worshippers ahead of their Friday Jumu’ah prayers.

According to Mrs Ghartey-Tsagli, the decision to donate to the Al Aziz Central Mosque was influenced by the hotel’s enduring relationship with the Ghana Armed Forces, which has provided support to the hotel since its establishment

Float Through Accra – 22nd August

On 22nd August, the exact date the hotel opened in 1991, management and staff took to the principal streets of Accra with a vibrant float, announcing the anniversary and thanking Ghanaians for three decades of loyalty.

Inter-Hotel Football Tournament – 26th September

On 26th September, the hotel organized an inter-hotel football tournament aimed at strengthening ties with sister hotels and ensuring hospitality and tourism win over rivalry.

HR Specialist, Bright Botwe, said hospitality work can be very demanding, especially as the industry prepares for the busy Christmas season, and activities like this help staff relieve stress and boost their energy ahead of the festivities and also to strengthen the relationship between their sister hotels

Thanksgiving Service – 17th October

All activities are expected to climax with a Thanksgiving Service on 17th October, bringing together past and present staff, board members, shareholders and stakeholders to thank God for 35 years of resilience and leadership in Ghana’s hospitality industry.

For Labadi Beach Hotel, at 35, it is not just about years in business, but 35 years of timeless hospitality, impact and authentic Ghanaian excellence.
