The Chief of Akrodie Ahantamo in the Ahafo Region, Nana Ofori Gyamfi II, has appealed to the government and the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly to establish a CHPS compound in the community.
He said the absence of a health facility in the area was forcing residents to travel long distances to Akrodie to access basic healthcare services.
Speaking to Adom News during the celebration of his first anniversary on the throne, Nana Ofori Gyamfi II said residents often rely on pragia or taxis to seek medical attention in Akrodie.
He described the situation as worrying, particularly for residents who require urgent healthcare, and called for immediate intervention.
The chief urged the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area, Haruna Mohammed, to work towards providing a CHPS compound to bring healthcare services closer to the people.
Meanwhile, the Queen Mother of Akrodie Ahantamo, Nana Tiwaa Nyarko II, has also appealed for the construction of a market in the community.
She said traders, particularly women, face several challenges due to the lack of a designated market.
Nana Tiwaa Nyarko II believes the provision of a market would improve trading activities and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
