Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa, Kwabena Tahiru Hammond, has called the bluff of NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah who has vowed to arrest him for his alleged role in the drill ship saga.

Asiedu Nketiah popularly called General Mosquito has promised to retire KT Hammond in this year’s election and cause his prosecution for his role in the sale of the ship.

According to him, KT Hammond is hiding behind his parliamentary immunity and so his defeat will pave way for the NDC government to arrest and prosecute him.

It will be recalled that a government white paper on a report presented by the judgment debt commission directed EOCO to get Mr. Hammond to account for the difference of $900,000 which went untraced following the sale of the drill ship for $24 million to defray a $19.5 million debt owed SG bank.

But speaking at the launch of an outreach programme for Volta caucus nationwide at Fumso in the Ashanti Region, Asiedu Nketia hinted that government is waiting for KT Hammond to lose his seat and immunity to arrest and prosecute him.

But KT Hammond has rubbished the claim, describing the call for his arrest as a ‘joke’.
