The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako-Atta, has said the Konongo Dwease-Praso road will soon be re-awarded to a new contractor to ensure that a proper job is done to protect pedestrians and motorists against the highways’ broken bridges.

Mr Amoako-Atta said this when he inspected the broken bridges of the Konongo-Odumasi, Juaso highway in the Ashanti region.

The Minister who expressed his disappointment by describing the broken bridges of the highway as a dangerous area told Adom News the contractor will soon start work to put the highway in a good shape.

“I will advise all of you especially the youth to keep calm as the government puts complete measures in place to get better roads for this township,” he said.

The road Minister toured the area with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem central, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, the Municipal Chief Executive of the District, Susan Akomeah as well as some party executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The delegation also visited the Queen mother of Praso, Nana Kusiwah Abebio, Dweasemanhene Nana Owusu Banahane II and ended their visit at the Konongo Manhene, Nana Batafo Acheampong in the Asante Akyem Central.
