Afrobeat musician, KelvynBoy has reacted to claims that Stonebwoy was referring to him when he advised underground artistes to respect and humble themselves.

At the recently held MTN 4Syte Music Awards, Stonebwoy said it would take 40 years to find musicians like himself, Shatta Wale or Sarkodie in the industry.

The BHIM Nation leader added that some underground artistes who don’t respect should humble themselves.

The comments have got fans talking as many of the fans believe Stonebwoy was referring to KelvynBoy when he made the alusions.

Reacting to the comments, however, KelvynBoy, said comments that were likely to lower the spirit of up-and-coming musicians shouldn’t be encouraged.

“I don’t think if Freda Rhymes gets nominated at the Grammy, we will not go for it because she is underground. The last time it was Kwesi Arthur who got nominated for BET Awards.

“I think that’s the energy that pulls us back. We know they are legends and we know they are bigger than us but you don’t say such things to discourage people. Even if he or she is, they will move from class one to two,” he said in an interview with Sammy Flex.

The Mea hitmaker, who said he doesn’t seen himself as an underground act, maintained that A-list musicians like Stonebwoy should rather “raise high the flag of Ghana and encourage emerging musicians.”
