The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, to seek his prayers and blessings ahead of his bid for re-election.
Lawyer Kodua visited the revered Islamic leader to enquire about his well-being and formally inform him of his intention to seek a renewed mandate as the party’s General Secretary.

He was accompanied by the Deputy General Secretary, Prof. Haruna Mohammed; former Ablekuma Central Member of Parliament, Ebenezer Nartey; and other members of his entourage.
The NPP General Secretary was received at the Chief Imam’s residence by Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party, Divine Otoo Agorhom, together with other regional executives, constituency chairpersons, party organisers and supporters.
Addressing the Chief Imam, Lawyer Kodua reflected on his first attempt at becoming General Secretary, noting that many had doubted his chances at the time.
He attributed his eventual election to the grace of God and the prayers and blessings he received from the National Chief Imam.

Lawyer Kodua acknowledged that although the NPP had hoped to retain power in the 2024 general election, the party was unsuccessful. However, he expressed confidence that the party could rebuild and return to government under the leadership of its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He appealed for the Chief Imam’s continued prayers as he seeks another term, promising to dedicate himself to strengthening the party and working towards victory in future elections.
“Your Eminence, you blessed me when I first sought this office, and by the grace of God, those prayers were answered. I have come once again to seek your blessings. Bless me to retain my seat, and I will work with all my strength to make your son, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the next President of the Republic of Ghana,” he said.

The visit ended with prayers from the National Chief Imam for Lawyer Kodua, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the leadership of the NPP, and the peace and prosperity of Ghana.
