Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Cypriot side APOEL as the club looks to strengthen its attack ahead of the new season.
The 34-year-old forward is currently a free agent after leaving Leicester City at the end of his contract.
According to Cypriot media outlet Protathlima, APOEL are considering a move for the experienced Ghanaian, with head coach Nikos Papadopoulos and sporting director Zisis Vryzas expected to make the final decision on whether to pursue the deal.
A move to Cyprus would add another chapter to Ayew’s lengthy European career, having played for several clubs in France and England, including Marseille, Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
The forward remains one of Ghana’s most experienced and influential players, having been a regular member of the Black Stars for more than a decade and currently serving as captain.
Since becoming a free agent, Ayew has remained active in Ghana, training with Nania FC and participating in community football matches following the Black Stars’ elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup by Colombia in the Round of 32.
His availability on a free transfer could make him an attractive option for APOEL as the club seeks to add experience and quality to its squad.
However, no formal agreement has been reached, with APOEL reportedly still assessing several attacking options before deciding whether to make an approach for the Ghana international.
