Former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Charles Taylor believes playing in the local league is a waste of time.

The veteran midfielder told media men in an interview that his belief stems from the fact that players who play in the local scene are never regarded when it comes to selection for the national team.

“There is no money in the league so a player gets no benefit from playing in the local league apart from being invited to play for the Black Stars.

“If I was still a player, I would have travelled to other countries to play football because the local players are not paid well.

“Local players have always been ignored by national team coaches, I think playing in the local League is a waste of time,” he said.

Latif Blessing who was the best player at the end of last season was omitted from the final squad of the Black Stars for 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
