Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Stephen Amoah has stated that he has zero tolerance for corruption.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Tuesday, Mr Amoah stated that due to his position on corruption, he will not interfere in the audit process in the company.

“I am not an angel but it will be hard for me or any other hard working person to embezzle state funds. So I was never interested in the audit and procurement process of the company until I was told I could be held liable if things go wrong because I’m the head.”

He key focus, Mr. Amoah noted is to ensure full recovery of loans owed MASLOC.

“We had over 100 million cedis debtors portfolio when we took over but have now been able to recover about 84% of these loans and we have collaborated with other banks to enhance the system and operation of MASLOC.”

MASLOC was launched by former President John Agyekum Kufuor to provide direct cash transfers and other business needs to poor households in Ghana which might not be in a position to support themselves.

MASLOC is to provide cash and other support to households to help facilitate the setting-up of small businesses and expand already existing ones to enhance job- and wealth-creation.
