Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery says it would be wrong for anyone to call for the resignation of the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Appeatu, in the wake of the current security situation in the country.
Many have expressed their worry over the current security situation in the country following the shooting and killing of police men with the recent one being the attack on the Kwabenya Police Station that has led to the killing of Insp. Emmanuel Ashiveli.

Addressing the media on Tuesday after meeting with the Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament, the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, admitted the security service is faced with challenges but said they were working to ensure the country is safe for all.
He however disagreed with assertions that there is a breakdown of security and further disclosed measures being put in place to improve the standards of police personnel in the country.
On his part, the IGP, David Asante Appeatu, said the police service would continue to ensure there is law and order despite the challenges it is faced with.
Ranking member of the Defense and Interior Committee, James Agalga, who earlier expressed his worry about the country’s current security situation said his committee is satisfied with the briefing given by the Police Service and the Interior Ministry.
