The Former Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, Rachael Nana Adjoa Appoh, has advised wives to support and show love to their husbands in order to help reduce stress and promote longer life.
According to her, unnecessary pressure in marriage can contribute to stress-related health challenges that may shorten the lifespan of men.
She therefore urged women to create peaceful and supportive homes for their spouses.
“When you get a husband, show him love and pamper him. This will help prolong their lives,” she stated.
Madam Appoh made the remarks during a Mother’s Day celebration held at Gomoa Dahom, where more than 700 elderly women and widows received various forms of support.
The event, which was held on the theme “Maternal Strength, Resilience and Unconditional Love,” brought together widows, single mothers, women in farming and other women in the community.

Items distributed included wax prints, streetlights, sewing machines, hampers, knapsack sprayers and several other items worth thousands of cedis.

The Chief of Gomoa Dahom, Nana Kaw-Pra Ababio VII, commended Madam Appoh for choosing the town for the celebration, describing the initiative as timely and inspiring.
He also urged mothers to train their children to become responsible future leaders and emphasized the need for parents to provide equal educational opportunities for girls.
Also present at the ceremony was Hackman Aidoo, who served as the special guest of honour.
Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Madam Appoh for her generosity and continued support for women and vulnerable groups in the area.
