Ghanaian-British singer Stephanie Benson has called for a rethink of traditional marriage structures, arguing that women should also have the option of having more than one husband.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, she said society often gives men greater freedom in relationships while underestimating women’s capacity to manage multiple partners.
“If I could bring that back so women to have more than one husband, that will be the ideal situation. I think it’s about time we had more than one husband, yes, because Stephanie Bensonified marriages,” he said.
She believes marriage should be reconsidered in ways that recognise women’s capabilities and choices.
“I think it’s important because men underestimate women. They think they are the only ones who need more than one woman, but a true woman, our juices, it flows by far more than that. It is only because we are dedicated and loyal. That’s why we stay with one man,” she said
According to Stephanie Benson, women’s loyalty to one partner should not be interpreted as a limitation on their ability to have multiple relationships.

“But if that rule was there, listen, we can satisfy a multitude of men. Intellectual satisfaction for the man is there; we can support, and we can look after how many children? So why can’t we have two, three men? I mean, I can.”
She argued that women are equally capable of providing emotional, intellectual, and practical support within multiple relationships.
