Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams has declared his readiness for a potential Black Stars call-up, while acknowledging that the final decision rests solely with head coach Carlos Queiroz.
The in-form playmaker has been one of the standout performers in the Ghana Premier League this season, playing a central role in Medeama’s strong title push.
On Sunday, Adams delivered another influential display, scoring a brace to inspire the Yellow and Mauve side to extend their lead at the top of the table at TNA Park. His performance earned him the man-of-the-match award, further underlining his growing influence in the league.
Despite his impressive form, Adams remained grounded when asked about his chances of breaking into the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Everything depends on Carlos Queiroz. I’m ready for a Black Stars call-up,” he said.
The midfielder’s statistics this season strengthen his case for selection. After 26 league appearances, he has scored 11 goals and collected eight MVP awards, making him one of the most productive midfielders in the domestic competition.
Adams was also among several locally based players recently monitored by Queiroz during Black Galaxies friendlies against Heart of Lions and Aduana FC, as the Portuguese coach continues assessing talent from the Ghana Premier League.
Although Queiroz is yet to announce his final squad, there is growing anticipation that standout home-based performers could be rewarded with inclusion.
The Black Stars coach is expected to name his squad by June 1, with Ghana set to begin their World Cup campaign on June 17 in Toronto against Panama, before facing England and Croatia in the group stage.
