Cameroon National team Coach Hugo Broos has denied being interviewed by the Ghana Football Association for the Black Stars job.

The Belgian was reported to have been shortlisted by the Ghana Football Association to be appointed the new Coach for the Black Stars.

Broos attracted interest from the Ghana FA after leading Cameroon to clinch their fifth Cup of Nations title in Gabon this year beating Ghana at the semi-finals on their road to secure the trophy.

The former Anderletch Coach was reported to be considering quitting his job at Cameroon over unpaid bonuses fueling speculation at the possibility of taking up the Ghana job.

However the 62-year-old has quashed reports indicating he was in negotiation with the Ghana Football Association over the Black Stars job.

“I would like to apologize for exaggeration. I have certainly humiliated the Cameroonian people,” Broos said at the presser.

“There is no reason for me to leave Cameroon.

“Forget about my departure or resignation, and don’t listen to rumours that I am in negotiations with other federations.

“The FA president and I had already discussed of a prolongation,” Broos vehemently denied the obvious.

Ghanaian Coach Kwesi Appiah has been re-appointed to take up the position left by Israeli trainer Avram Grant.
