A huge tree has fallen onto several vehicles along the 37 stretch towards Kawukudi, causing major traffic congestion and damaging some of the affected cars.
The incident occurred on Friday, with the fallen tree blocking part of the busy road and affecting the movement of motorists in the area.
Some vehicles parked or passing along the stretch were trapped under the fallen branches, resulting in damage to parts of the cars.
No injuries or fatalities have been reported, with a man who narrowly escaped harm expressing gratitude to God for his safety.
Personnel from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) have arrived at the scene and are working to cut away branches from the fallen tree to free the affected vehicles and clear the roadway.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area where possible, exercise caution and cooperate with emergency teams as efforts continue to restore normal traffic flow.
