Staff of the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas) on Friday joined the nationwide National Clean-Up Exercise, reaffirming the company’s commitment to environmental sanitation and public health.

Employees at the company’s head office in Cantonments and operational sites across the country participated in the exercise by sweeping, weeding, cutting overgrown grass, clearing curbs and desilting drains within and around their workplaces.

The exercise formed part of the National Clean-Up Campaign launched by President John Dramani Mahama under the theme, “Our Action, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana After the Floods.”

The initiative seeks to restore clean and healthy communities while promoting collective responsibility for environmental protection, particularly in the aftermath of recent flooding in parts of the country.

Speaking during the exercise, management of Ghana Gas reiterated that environmental sustainability remains a key pillar of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

“Ghana Gas remains committed to supporting national initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and calls on all Ghanaians to play their part in keeping our communities clean and safe,” the company said.

The National Clean-Up Campaign is expected to be held regularly as part of the government’s efforts to improve sanitation, prevent flooding and promote healthier living conditions across the country.
