Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a right quadriceps injury, dealing a major setback to Nottingham Forest’s campaign.
The former Chelsea FC winger picked up the injury during Forest’s Europa League quarter-final clash against FC Porto last Thursday.
His absence is expected to be a significant blow for Forest as they push on in Europe, with the 25-year-old having become a key attacking figure for the side this season.
Hudson-Odoi, who remains eligible to represent the Ghana national football team, had recently been linked with a potential call-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the injury now places any immediate international involvement in doubt as he shifts focus to recovery.
In a statement released via the club’s social media channels, Nottingham Forest confirmed the winger has undergone surgery and has begun rehabilitation.
“Following further specialist consultation, the winger has undergone surgery today and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately.”
“Callum is expected to return to full training during the pre-season period and everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Hudson-Odoi later took to social media to reassure supporters, confirming the procedure was successful while expressing disappointment at his premature end to the season.
“Surgery was successful, but definitely not the way I wanted to end the season. But with God’s timing and plan, hopefully I’ll be back stronger and better than before. Thank you for your continued support and messages. I appreciate all the love, and let’s get the recovery started so I can get back out there doing what I love. No pain, no gain.”
