Comic actor Yaw Dabo has shared a humorous moment when his confidence was tested during an interview on Kumasi-based radio station, Luv FM.
The actor, who graced the studios for a sports segment, said he initially tried to engage the female presenter in English but quickly realized he was struggling to match her level of expression and grammar.
According to Yaw Dabo, the interviewer’s command of the English language was impressive, leaving him uncomfortable as he tried to respond.
He explained that rather than risk embarrassing himself on air, he gathered courage and humbly requested that they continue the conversation in Twi.

“I nearly disgraced myself at Luv FM. The lady’s English was on another level, it was so fluent and polished. Even me who had just returned from America couldn’t match up. so I had to humbly beg her, ‘Please, can we switch to Twi?’” he recalled amid laughter.
Yaw Dabo said he was not ashamed to make the request because he believed it was better to communicate effectively in a language he was more comfortable with than struggle and lose the essence of the conversation.
He added that the switch helped the interview flow smoothly, while assuring the presenter that he would return another time ready to engage fully in English.
The actor’s candid admission has since attracted hilarious reactions from fans, with many praising his humility and willingness to learn.
