The Municipal Chief Executive for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA), Nana Appiah Korang has issued a strong warning to male teachers in the KEEA municipality against having sexual relations with their students.
According to him, any teacher who refuses to abide will be dismissed without delay.
Mr. Korang said this when he paid an unannounced visit to some selected basic schools in the municipality.
“”n the country here about 700 teachers have impregnate children. They are not your girlfriends to have sex with them. We plead with them, they will not be any transfer you will be sacked. Transferring them will motivate them to carry on such barbaric behaviour…” he warned.

Meanwhile, the Headmistress for Essama United Basic School, Patience Mansa Apeku mentioned the lack of classrooms, furniture and rampant theft cases as major challenges impeding effective teaching and learning in the school.
She has therefore appealed to the Municipal Assembly to help solve these challenges in the school.
Also, one of the teachers, Ekow Mensah Tandoh expressed gratitude to the MCE and appealed to him to help organize a seminar to boost interest in teaching and learning of mathematics in the municipality.
