Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Ocquaye has deferred his ruling on the findings of the Joe Ghartey Committee on the Parliamentary bribery allegation.

The committee in presenting its report on Thursday said the actions of the Bawku Central MP, Mahama Ayariga is in contempt of Parliament and as part of its recommendations asked him to apologize to Parliament after which the Speaker was supposed to deliver a verdict on the case.

Mahama Ayariga offered an apology in a manner that sparked debate in the House as to whether the way he went about it was proper or not.

The Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Ocquaye Jnr. promised to give his verdict today but in a sharp contrast to his promise, he said his verdict will be given at a later time.
