A 35-year-old woman is said to have collapsed after identifying her rapist during an identification parade.

The victim, [name withheld] rushed to the Kasoa police station in the Central region after police announced the identification parade on 46 people suspected to be armed robbers.

According to Adom News’ Kofi Adjei, the nursing mother lost consciousness when she identified the armed robber whose name was given as Simon.

He indicated that, the armed robbers stormed her house at Budumbra Area U Tuesday and demanded money but after a thorough search to no avail, the criminals decided to rape the woman who is nursing a three months old baby.

Kofi Adjei noted that, the armed robbers after the heinous crime also took away all her mobile phones and other valuables in the house.

The Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, ACP Dennis Akob-Dem confirmed the unfortunate incident to Adom News.

He indicated that 46 suspected armed robbers from Nigerian, Liberians and Ghanaian decent were rounded up in a swoop so they decided to do the identification parade to enable them send the suspects to court.

It is, however, unfortunate, ACP Akob-Dem added that their key witness collapsed in the process.

He, therefore, promised residents of police resolve to rid Kasoa off armed robbers.

Meanwhile, the nursing mother is currently on admission at the Kasoa polyclinic receiving treatment.
