Awutu Senya East Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region, Alhaji Ibrahim Abu-Sadat says they are ready to work with anyone the President selects as MP for the municipality.
His comment is in reaction to reports of some members of the NPP fighting one another to be appointed the MCE for the municipality.
According to reports, NPP members in the area have vowed to reject anyone nominated by the President if their candidate is not confirmed.
But in an interview with Adom News’ Central regional correspondent, Kofi Adjei, the constituency chairman debunked such claims.
He said, some faceless people are sabotaging themselves whiles vying for the MCE post but as a constituency chairman, he will be happy with whoever President Nana Addo appoints to come and head the district.
“There is no fight here. We are all party members. I believed there are some faceless people wanting to destroy some careers. We know how this is. All the agents and coordinators are fine. We don’t hate ourselves. It’s all about teamwork.
“The president is the one appointing the MCE. Even if it’s a goat, we will work with it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the electoral area coordinators for Awutu Senya East constituency cautioned the President not to kowtow to pressures and appoint a credible person as MCE.
He also called on all party supporters to stay calm and accept the choice of the President.
