The Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has donated essential office equipment to the Ghana National Ambulance Service in the constituency to support administrative operations and improve emergency response.
The items donated include a computer, printer, refrigerator, office chairs, tables and student mattresses.
The MP said the gesture forms part of his efforts to support institutions providing critical services to residents of the constituency.
Speaking to Adom News Correspondent Odehyeba Owusu Job after presenting the items, Mr Kpotosu highlighted the crucial role of the Ambulance Service in saving lives, particularly during medical emergencies, accidents and other situations requiring urgent attention.
He therefore called on other stakeholders, corporate institutions and philanthropists to complement the government’s efforts by providing the service with the resources and infrastructure needed to operate effectively.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ambulance Service, Principal Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist (PAEMT), Henry Horlali Mawugbe, expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture.
He said the equipment would improve the working conditions of personnel and contribute to the efficient delivery of emergency medical services in Ho Central and surrounding communities.
Mr Mawugbe, however, appealed for further support, particularly in the area of infrastructure.
According to him, the facility has not undergone any major infrastructural development since the ambulance post was established in 2005, a situation he said continues to affect the working environment of personnel.
He also appealed for additional ambulances and other operational logistics to enable the service to respond promptly to emergencies.
Meanwhile, Mr Kpotosu has pledged to work with the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho Central, Stephen Adom, to secure a befitting office facility for the Ghana National Ambulance Service in the municipality.
