Former National Chapters Committee (NCCE) organizer of Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Alhassan has hinted the club is near collapse.
According to him, the once vibrant club is sitting on a time bomb which could explode any time.
His comment comes after most of the players in the Accra-based football club decided not to renew their contracts due to bad management.
According to reports, the Hearts of Oak players failed to turn up to a meeting by management to discuss their future.
This development, Mr. Alhassan on Asempa FM’s Ultimate sport show Wednesday, is a recipe for disaster.
He also cited among other things the dwindling fortunate of the club to buttress his point.
Mohammed Alhassan blamed the current management of the club for the unfortunate situation noting that, they have been very unprofessional in dealings with
the players.
He appealed with club owner, Togbe Afedze XIV to listen to the grassroots if he wants Hearts of Oak to work again.
“Togbe Afedze must for the first time listen to supporters and save the club. Hearts of Oak can survived if the concerns of supporters are addressed. The members of the board handling the recruitment are unprofessional” he fumed.
Striker Kwame Kizito is the second this season to have requested for a floating status to leave the club for free after failing to renew his expired contract.
Sports pundits are predicting many of the players could follow suit is their conditions of service are not improved.
