The Inter-party Resistance against a new Voters Register has described as a needless waste of money, the Electoral Commission’s (EC) decision to compile a new Voters Register for the 2020 elections.

The group says the EC’s unilateral decision to spend in excess of eight hundred million cedis on a new electoral system, will be resisted whichever way possible.

The group, made up of the All People’s Congress, People’s National Congress, National Democratic Congress and other parties at a press conference in Accra, declared series of actions would be taken to register its displeasure against the EC’s decision they described as capable of plunging the country into chaos.

Series of demonstrations have been announced to take place in parts of the country to drum home their demand starting with the ‘Tokosai’ demo in Tamale on January 11, 2020.

The ‘Y3n Pene’ demo will also take place in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi on January 21, 2020.

The ‘W)kp3n3’ demo will also take pace in Accra on January 28, 2020.
