The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued four men following a road traffic accident involving a Hyundai minibus near the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) office at Circle in Accra.
According to the GNFS, the Circle Fire Station received a distress call at 12:41 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, reporting the crash.
A firefighting crew was dispatched a minute later and arrived at the scene by 12:44 p.m., recording a two-minute response time to begin rescue and emergency operations.
The accident involved a Hyundai minibus with registration number AS 3198-Y, which sustained extensive damage, particularly to its front bumper and the driver’s side.
Firefighters rescued four men trapped in the wreckage, while two of the victims who sustained injuries received immediate first aid at the scene before being stabilised for further medical evaluation.
The GNFS said its personnel secured the accident scene, eliminated potential hazards and ensured the area was safe for other road users before bringing the situation under control.
The cause of the accident is yet to be established and remains under investigation.
The Fire Service has meanwhile urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads and strictly observe road safety regulations to help prevent accidents.
