The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has contained two separate fire incidents at Teshie Fertilizer and Kotobabi Down in the Greater Accra Region, preventing the fires from spreading to adjoining properties.

The incidents occurred on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

At Teshie Fertilizer, firefighters from the Trade Fair Fire Station responded to a domestic fire and managed to contain the blaze within minutes.

The fire was restricted to a 16kVA solar inverter, limiting the extent of damage to the property.

At Kotobabi Down, near Antrack Filling Station, firefighters from the Circle Fire Station responded to a commercial fire involving metal containers used for business activities.

The alert was received through Fire Master Control at 4:00 a.m., and the crew was dispatched a minute later.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the containers engulfed in flames. The fire was brought under control at 4:45 a.m. and fully extinguished at 5:40 a.m.

Five metal containers were completely destroyed, while firefighters successfully salvaged two adjoining containers, preventing the fire from spreading further.

The GNFS said no injuries or casualties were recorded in either incident.
