The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a fire outbreak at the Ho Nursing Training College in the Volta Region, preventing the blaze from spreading to other parts of the facility.
According to the GNFS, the fire occurred at the Tutor’s Office of the college on Sunday, June 28, 2026, after the Service responded promptly to a distress call.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and brought the blaze under control within minutes, successfully preventing it from extending to adjoining offices and other sections of the building.
Although no injuries were recorded, the fire destroyed office furniture, electrical appliances, books and other equipment in the affected office.
The Ghana National Fire Service commended the professionalism and swift response of the firefighting crew, whose efforts helped minimise the extent of the damage.
The Service has also urged schools and other institutions to strengthen their fire safety measures by installing and regularly maintaining fire protection equipment to reduce the risk of similar incidents.
