Ghanaian actor William “Chembez” Lamptey has emerged winner of the Africa Monologue Challenge Season 3, beating strong competition from across the continent to claim the $1,000 grand prize.
Lamptey represented Ghana in the continental acting competition and impressed with his performances throughout the challenge, ultimately finishing ahead of contestants from Kenya and Côte d’Ivoire.
He faced tough competition from Kenya’s Douglas Mwenda Nyaga who emerged as the first runner-up, while Sara Loba, representing Côte d’Ivoire, placed second runner-up.
The achievement also gives Ghana another reason to celebrate, with the country securing the right to host Africa Monologue Challenge Season 4.
From participating in Season 3 to producing its eventual champion and now earning the hosting rights for the next edition, Ghana has played a significant role in the latest chapter of the competition.
For Lamptey, the $1,000 prize comes alongside the bigger recognition that comes with winning a continental platform dedicated to showcasing acting talent.
The victory further puts his name in the spotlight as he joins the growing number of Ghanaian performers making their mark on international and continental stages.
