Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Lawyer Obiri Boahene says the police service acted unprofessionally by releasing the seized cars to Kofi Adams.

He is questioning why the police did not invite those who seized the cars in the first place to produce evidence before releasing the cars to Kofi Adams.

“What kind of shoddy work is this; given the high profile of the case, the police should have acted professionally” he fumed.

The police Thursday released five cars seized by some NPP tugs on the assumption that they were cars belonging to the state.

Public relations officer of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) ASP Joseph Benifo Darkwah says their investigations revealed that the cars are not for the state.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kofi Adams says he will take legal action against Nana Obiri Boahen some others for defaming him.

But lawyer Obiri Boahen says he is ready to meet him in court, adding that the police behaved unprofessionally.

“About 90 percent of Ghanaians trust the military more than the police and Kofi Adams’ case is a classical example. We have good material and bad nuts in the police service” he noted.

The NPP deputy General Secretary is still convinced the investigations was one sided just to favour Kofi Adams.

Nana Obiri Boahen said he is ready to meet the NDC National Organizer in court over. the defamation suit.
