Four people including a child are feared dead in a car crash near Apedwa on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti region.
According to reports, Hyundai Atos with registration number AS 3954-11 collided head-on with a trailer with registration number GS 9193-13 heading to Kumasi from Accra Sunday.
An eyewitness who gave his name as George in an interview on Adom News said the road had become slippery after a heavy down pour so in an attempt to overtake a car, driver of the Hyundai Atos lost control and run into the trailer.
He indicated that the driver of the Atos together with the passengers died instantly after his car skidded off the road in the process of the crash.
George said the victims are still trapped in the mangled vehicles hours after the accident happened.
In spite of the huge police and military presence on the road, he said they have been unable to remove the bodies from the car.
The situation, George added that caused huge traffic jam on the hitherto busy road with both sides of the road chocked.
