The Black Stars of Ghana won their opening Group D game against the Cranes of Uganda in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.

Deputy skipper of the side, Dede Ayew converted a penalty on the 30th Minute mark to give the Black Stars only goal of the game.

The Stars in the second half had to rely on counter attack football to sustain their lead.

Baba Rahman was however was stretched off the pitch during the game and coach Avram Grant will be hoping that his injury may not be a serious one.

Ghana will now play Mali on Saturday January 21st.
