Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has called on his players to maintain their concentration as the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season approaches its decisive final stretch.

The Mauve and Yellow strengthened their title charge over the weekend, opening up a five-point lead at the top of the table after a convincing 2-0 win against closest challengers Bibiani Gold Stars.

With just four matches left, Tanko is refusing to get carried away. Ahead of their Matchday 30 clash with Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Wednesday, the former Ghana international stressed the importance of staying grounded.

He acknowledged the difficulty of the run-in, noting that every point will be hard-fought as teams battle for different objectives across the table.

“The four remaining matches won’t be easy. We are going to prepare very well. We want to win the league, and so definitely we need to keep fighting,” Tanko said.

The Medeama boss also highlighted the psychological demands of the title race, pointing out that pressure is not exclusive to teams at the top.

According to him, sides fighting relegation are equally desperate, making the closing fixtures even more intense.

“The pressure is always there, not only to win it, but also to those who are going to relegation have pressure. So, we all have to deal with pressure. I think the last four games are going to be a mind game. We have to be strong, and I think this is what we are going to do,” he added.

Kick-off for Wednesday’s encounter is set for 15:00 GMT.
