A former Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Bright Oduro (Rtd.) has described as premature calls on his successor to resign.
According to him, CID boss Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah should be given time to conclude investigations and possibly find the three missing Takoradi girls.

The CID boss has come under pressure after claiming the police knew the whereabouts of the missing girls.
When pushed to back her comments with evidence, the CID boss made an unusual u-turn and said her comments were misunderstood. She explained that her comments were rather to give the families of the missing girls “hope”.

This sparked public outrage with many calling for her ‘head’. The opposition National Democratic Congress went beyond rhetoric and announced it was collecting signatures for the CID boss to be sacked.
But, COP Oduro on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Tuesday said such calls were quite unfair.

Though COP Addo-Danquah’s comments, he said, were regrettable, she should be given time to prove her wealth.
“She [Tiwaa] will be allowed to bring finality to this case,” COP Oduro stressed.
