The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has revealed the ruling government will soon introduce a Fiscal Possibility Act in the country.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Boadu stated this new policy is an initiative to help safeguard the expenditure and public purse of the country.

“We are so conscious not to rush anything and that is why we want to check our spending, leave within our means and not to exceed the budget.”

Going further, Mr Boadu added this new policy is also to help the government work effectively and efficiently.

“We want to work hard in order not to compromise our own rules and regulations.”

The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also announced that government will soon pass a fiscal responsibility law when speaking at the maiden US-Ghana Business forum in Accra held in June 2018.

Dr Bawumia who also heads the Economic Management Team said government also intends to implement measures to tackle some of the long-term structural issues to ensure the consolidate the macroeconomic gains made so far.
