A warehouse full of tyres and motorbike parts caught fire at Tamale Station in Techiman on Thursday night, and one firefighter was taken to hospital after collapsing from smoke inhalation.
The Ghana National Fire Service received the call at 9:29pm (2129 hrs). The first fire appliance, from Nkoranza, reached the scene at 9:30pm (2130 hrs).
The fire is now under control as crews from Techiman and Nkoranza were still at the scene on Friday morning.
The Regional Commander, ACFO I Rev. Naomi Ofori-Adubea Sarpong, was there to take operational command.
The firefighter collapsed after breathing in smoke and was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital. His condition has not been given.
The service also managed to save a Zen filling station close to the warehouse.
