A fire outbreak at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Office in Damongo has damaged a section of the building’s roof, but swift intervention by emergency responders prevented the blaze from spreading to the rest of the facility.

The incident occurred late Thursday afternoon, affecting part of the roof of the one-storey office building.

Emergency teams arrived at the scene shortly after the alarm was raised and managed to bring the fire under control before it could engulf the entire structure.

Their timely response confined the damage to a small section of the roof, helping to protect government property and other valuables within the building.

No injuries or fatalities were recorded, and all occupants were reported safe.

Although the affected section of the roof sustained damage, the rest of the office block was spared from the fire, preventing what could have resulted in significant destruction.

The cause of the outbreak has not yet been established, as authorities have begun investigations to determine what triggered the fire.
