Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena has mobilised members of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana to participate in the National General Cleaning Exercise at Tesano.
The exercise saw members of the group joining efforts to clear refuse, clean drains and promote environmental cleanliness as part of President John Dramani Mahama’s sanitation initiative.
Leading the activity, Akofena actively participated in weeding and waste disposal while urging citizens to take responsibility for keeping their communities clean.
He called for greater discipline and orderliness in society, cautioning against practices such as constructing buildings on unauthorised sites, which he said contribute to environmental challenges and flooding.
According to him, the sanitation campaign reflects the vision of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, who consistently advocated discipline, cleanliness and national development.
“Our father spoke for this same cause, and we ought to continue his legacy,” Akofena said.
He encouraged individuals, organisations and communities to make cleanliness a daily responsibility rather than an activity undertaken only during national clean-up exercises.
