Serie A club ACF Fiorentina are reportedly preparing to terminate the contract of Ghana international Tariq Lamptey following a difficult spell marked by injuries and limited playing time.

The right-back joined the Tuscan side last summer with just one year remaining on his contract at Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., signing a three-year deal in a move that was expected to revive his career in Italy.

However, his time in Florence has not gone as planned. Persistent fitness setbacks restricted him to only a few appearances, with reports suggesting he played just around 25 minutes across all competitions.

Lamptey made his debut as a substitute in a home defeat to SSC Napoli before suffering another major setback. He later sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury just 21 minutes into his first start against Como 1907 in late September.

The injury effectively ended his season and halted any momentum he had hoped to build in Serie A. With both parties reportedly reaching a mutual agreement, the 25-year-old is expected to leave at the end of the 2025/26 season and become a free agent.
