The headmistress is appealing for support for a wall to protect the pupils

The headmistress of Achimota Basic School, Edith Kyeremateng has disclosed that thieves, encroachers and mentally deranged men have taken over the school due to the absence of a protective school wall.

According to her, as the nation is currently battling kidnapping issues, she fears same may happen in the school due to the insecure nature of the school.

She told Adom News‘ reporter, Kojo Hagan that the rate at which thieves invade the school to steal is very worrying.

She said there is, therefore, the need to secure the facilities and the lives of the pupils.

She appealed to various stakeholders and the government for support to build a wall around the school.

“I fear because of the way thieves, mentally deranged men and encroachers enter the school due to the absence of school wall. I appeal to the various stakeholders and government to support us to secure the facilities and the dear pupils,” she appealed.

The headmistress took the opportunity to advise the young ones to take advantage of the government’s free education and learn hard.

She urged pupils and students to be disciplined and desist from various forms of drug abuses.

“My counsel is that the young ones take advantage of the free education system and learn hard,” she advised.
