The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has temporarily closed some food service establishments along Oxford Street, Osu, for operating without the mandatory Food Hygiene Permit.
The closures followed a food safety inspection exercise conducted by the FDA on Thursday, July 16, during which officials identified establishments that had failed to obtain the required certification.
The affected businesses have been directed to remain closed until they regularise their operations and secure the necessary Food Hygiene Permit Certificate.
The FDA has reminded all food operators that obtaining the permit is a mandatory requirement aimed at ensuring safe food handling practices and protecting public health.
The Authority further warned food businesses to comply with safety regulations to avoid enforcement actions, including closure and possible fines.
