The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has shut down the Italian Boy Lounge at Nungua Kantamanto following an operation that uncovered suspected illicit drugs on the premises.
The enforcement exercise forms part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on substance abuse and the illegal distribution of controlled substances.
According to the FDA, two staff members of the lounge have been arrested to assist with investigations into the alleged possession of the illicit drugs.

The premises have since been closed pending the outcome of the investigations.

The Authority said the operation underscores its commitment to protecting public health and ensuring that businesses comply with Ghana’s laws governing the sale and possession of regulated substances.
The FDA has identified and seized some drugs allegedly found during the operation.
