It has emerged that over two million dictionaries meant for primary and Junior High Schools in six regions including the Western and Central regions are rotting away.
According to the Auditor General report, the Ghana Education Service (GES) spent $14.3 million to import the dictionaries which are yet to be distribute after two years. of their import.

When quizzed on the matter, management in charge of the distribution said they were waiting for the official launch of the distribution to create public awareness.

“Our children are still struggling to understand basic words because they lack dictionaries yet, some are rotting away”, he stated in Twi.
Captain Smart called on the Minister for Education, Mathew Opoku Prempeh to intervene to ensure the dictionaries are distributed to the beneficiary schools.
