Most of the victims of Saturday night gas explosion at Madina-Atomic junction in Accra are thankful to God for saving their lives.

The victims who are on admission at the 37 Military Hospital and Ridge Hospital are responding to treatment according to Adomonline.com’s photo journalist, Geshong Mortey.

The gas explosion has so far claimed at least seven lives and injured more than 132 people, according to official estimation.

More than 20 vehicles and other properties were also consumed by the raging fire.

A statement signed by the Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid  added that out of those injured, 64 persons have been discharged from the hospitals with 68 others receiving treatment.

The Vice President on Sunday morning visited the site of the explosion to get the first-hand update.

He also visited a number of hospitals to comfort and support the injured.

The Police who have been at the site of the explosion, Mansco Gas Filling Station, have cordoned off the road for investigations to begin.

Meanwhile, government will soon roll out tough policies to address the spate of fire disasters in the country.
