Actor John Dumelo and dancehall act Samini are currently trending on Twitter after the latter attacked Dumelo in series of tweets concerning his Toyota Land Cruiser V8 saga.

Ghanaians descended on their Members of Parliament on Wednesday, June 3, 2019, amidst reports that they are planning to build a 450-seater Parliament Chamber at a cost of $200 million.

Some celebrities have waded into the matter and have lambasted the government with the hashtag ‘DropThatChamber’ on social media. One of them was John Dumelo, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist.

But, Samini in response revisited an old issue and asked Dumelo to open up on the ‘V8’ matter if he wants to join the #DropTheChamber campaign.

According to Samini, Dumelo has no right to own a voice in the campaign against the government when he is already neck deep in a similar gesture.

He first tweeted: “Once upon a time a national asset ‘V8’ was taken to a coded location for spraying and other disguise touches so it could become a private property.@johndumelo1 name was mentioned as the one who took it there.. my question is ..did you do this John ? And you want shade?” he asked.

After John failed to reply in a matter of hours, Samini still fired again:

“You see the guy en answer ? ebe today I see say @johndumelo1 no Dey guard. Told you this is not comedy. The only reason I called you out was because we never got to the bottom of your v8 case as a nation. Not because I support the foolish chamber idea bro. dont try Rasta.”

Background to V8 story

After the NDC left office and handed over power to the New Patriotic Party in 2016, some NDC members were chased to return State property in their custody and Mr Dumelo was fingered to be keeping a V8 Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle.

The operatives pounced on it at a garage at Abelemkpe in Accra where it had purportedly been sent for re-spraying.
