Director of Passport, Kwadwo Peprah Ampratwum

Deputy Director of Passport, Kwadwo Peprah Ampratwum has explained how easy it is for Ghanaians to acquire their passports in Ghana.

Mr Ampratwum said in spite of many complaints coupled with the rise of agents and ‘Goro boys’ at the passport offices, Ghanaians could still follow the due procedure to get their passports within a specific time frame.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show, Mr Ampratwum emphasized the introduction of the online passport processing portal has come to enhance the process.

“You can either download the passport pdf online at MFA.gov.gh for the manual registration or buy the registration voucher at the bank to assess the online portal at an express fee of GHc100 or a normal fee of GHc50,” he explained.

Reacting to how easy it is for foreigners to get Ghana passports, Mr Ampratwum said “for that, I believe Ghanaians need to be blamed because we play active roles in that. I don’t think the foreigners can get the passport without help so we are the people who direct and guide them through the due processes,” he said.
