Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2028 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has been relocated to Akuapem North following the devastating impact of the June 29 floods in Accra.

The Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku, confirmed the development while presenting relief items on behalf of Dr Bawumia to students of the Ghana Communication Technology University who were also affected by the floods.

Mr Aboagye had earlier disclosed that he lost virtually all his belongings after floodwaters swept through his home.

He described the destruction as overwhelming, noting that his family had been left with nothing and would have to rebuild from scratch.

In a show of support, Mr Awuku said arrangements were made to assist him during the period of displacement.

“We have successfully relocated Dennis Miracles Aboagye to Akuapem North because that is his home, and I have always told him to return because in Accra, we are all just passing through,” he said jokingly.

The floods submerged homes, businesses, roads and public infrastructure, displaced residents, disrupted transportation, destroyed properties, and prompted emergency rescue operations by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana National Fire Service, and the Ghana Police Service.

Authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage while providing relief to affected communities.
