Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has called for a renewed national commitment to integrity, accountability and shared responsibility, describing strong values as the foundation for Ghana’s sustainable development.
Speaking at the National Development Conference organised by The Church of Pentecost, Mr. Debrah said the gathering provided a timely platform for Ghanaians to reflect on the principles needed to shape the country’s development agenda.
He said he was honoured to represent President John Dramani Mahama at the conference, where he conveyed the President’s greetings and commendation to the leadership of the Church for organising the initiative.
Mr. Debrah stressed that while economic growth and infrastructure remain important, the true measure of national progress lies in the character of citizens, the integrity of public institutions and the commitment of leaders to serve with honesty and accountability.
“The progress of any nation is built not only on economic growth and physical infrastructure, but also on the strength of its values. A country’s true advancement depends on the character of its people, the integrity of its institutions, and the commitment of its leaders to serve with honesty, accountability, and responsibility,” he said.
The Chief of Staff noted that religious and traditional institutions have a critical role to play in promoting national development, describing them as custodians of Ghana’s values, culture and social cohesion.
According to him, collaboration between government, the Church and traditional authorities is essential to building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
“As Ghana continues to pursue sustainable development, the role of institutions such as the Church and Traditional Authorities remains indispensable. These institutions are custodians of values, culture and social cohesion, and their partnership with Government is critical in building a nation founded on peace, unity and shared responsibility,” he stated.
Mr. Debrah commended the Chairman and leadership of The Church of Pentecost for convening the National Development Conference, describing it as an important platform for dialogue on Ghana’s future.
He urged all sectors of society to work together in building the nation, saying the aspirations of Ghanaian citizens can only be achieved through collective effort, guided by integrity, selfless service and the common good.
