Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz is expected to unveil Ghana’s official squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, June 1, in line with FIFA’s squad submission deadline.
The national team has been in camp in Cardiff since last week, working with a provisional 28-man squad as preparations intensify for the tournament set to be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Queiroz and his technical team have been assessing players ahead of the final selection, which will determine Ghana’s squad for the 23rd edition of football’s global showpiece.

Black Stars’ provisional squad
Following the squad announcement, Ghana will step up their preparations with a friendly against Wales on June 2, before concluding their build-up with another warm-up match against Jamaica on June 10.
The Black Stars are targeting a strong run at the tournament, with hopes of surpassing their historic quarter-final achievement in 2010.
This year marks Ghana’s fifth appearance at the World Cup. The team has been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field, before facing England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
