The Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, has announced a package of $32,000 for the Black Queens for winning the 2018 WAFU Women’s Zone B Cup.
He announced the package during his maiden encounter with the press, organised by the Ministry of Information on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, each member of the team will receive at least   $1,000.
He also added that, the government is keen on ensuring a successful hosting of the 2018 African Women’s Nations Cup tournament and has therefore approved a budget of $8m for the renovation of stadia and other training facilities.
The Black Queens were crowned champions of the first edition of the WAFU Zone B Women’s Tournament after beating hosts, Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in the final game.
Ghana used the tournament as part of its preparation for the 2018 African Women’s Nations Cup tournament as competition host.
